Overview – Spicers Peak Lodge
Be on top of the world at Spicers Peak Lodge, Queensland’s loftiest mountain retreat.
Poised on a mountaintop overlooking the World Heritage-listed Main Range National Park and Scenic Rim, Spicers Peak Lodge is approximately two hours from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane and Gold Coast but feels like worlds away. Star gazing, spa treatments and sumptuous food and wines are de rigueur here, and the pace can be as leisurely or as active as you like. With dozens of vineyards dotting the landscape, guests can visit cellar doors or take a picnic hamper to one of the many breathtaking locations on and around this impeccable property. For exercise, take a dip in the infinity edge pool, search for native wildlife on an early morning bushwalk or play tennis.
There are just five choices of accommodation here, comprised of suites located within the main lodge, and two individual detached properties. Every suite is a haven of comfort, with elegant marble bathrooms, Nespresso coffee machine and cosy areas to curl up and read. Guests can also combine their stay at Spicers Peak Lodge with Spicer’s Canopy, a glamorous safari-style campsite located in a splendid wilderness area, by embarking on a multi-day walk along the Spicers Rim Trail.
Awarded two Chef Hats by the 2016 Brisbane Times Good Food Guide, The Peak restaurant serves mouth-watering contemporary Australian meals. The ever-changing menu reflects the kitchen’s commitment to using only the best available seasonal ingredients. All meals and beverages excluding premium cellar wines are included in the tariff.
The purpose-built Spa Anise has an equally dynamic menu – with treatments designed to meet seasonal demands, utilising an indulgent range of natural products. Popular with couples and groups, the spa has single and double treatment rooms. Bookings are highly recommended.
