Overview – Tussie Mussie Vineyard Retreat

Leave the stresses of city living behind as soon as you enter the wrought iron gates of the Tussie Mussie Vineyard Retreat, a rural sanctuary nestled in a valley filled with roses, olives and grapevines.

The magnificent Tussie Mussie Vineyard Retreat has all the pastoral charm of a French provincial farm, from lush, sprawling grounds to elegant, inviting guest cottages featuring lots of soft unbleached linens and rustic reclaimed timbers. This former working rose farm now only cultivates Pinot and Pinot Gris vines; the fragrant blooms and edible kitchen garden are purely for the pleasure of guests. The owners strongly encourage you to pick the fresh heirloom vegetables and flavourful herbs to supplement your lunch, and to spend time outside on the delightful grounds which are frequented by native birdlife and wild ducks.

There are three accommodation options at Tussie Mussie Vineyard Retreat. The magnificent four-bedroom Vineyard Lodge is accessed by a long driveway, flanked with pencil pines. Be as private or social as you like here – each lavish suite has its own spacious lounge area, while there are plenty of communal, convivial spaces such as a unique dining terrace equipped with a clay pizza oven, large barbecue and champagne bucket so you can keep your bubbly cool! Then there’s the utterly romantic standalone two-bedroom Vineyard Cottage, ideal for girly getaways or small groups. Last but not least, there’s the secluded character-filled Old Laundry Suite – designed for couples – with its own wood-burning fireplace.

Available for the use of all guests is a sunny furnished terrace in the main lodge, as well as an atmospheric outdoor dining area amongst the grapevines known as “The Long Table”. Whilst each of the self-catering properties on the estate have their own kitchens, there is a central open plan kitchen and dining room in the kitchen garden which can be rented separately if you wish to entertain. With a huge walk-in fridge and catering-standard equipment, this stylish area contains everything you need to entertain on a larger scale. You could even turn the place into your own private restaurant by hiring a chef to oversee all the cooking!

Tussie Mussie Vineyard Retreat is a working vineyard and thus has unfenced dams, whose idyllic grassy banks invite picnics. There’s also an outdoor full-size tennis court, with racquets and balls provided for your enjoyment. When you aren’t exploring the grounds, take a wine tour, visit some of the Mornington Peninsula’s award-winning restaurants or soak sore muscles in the thermal baths at the Peninsula Hot Springs.
