Rimu Lodge

Explore the untamed wilderness of the South Island’s west coast.

Sometimes called “the land that time forgot” this is a region of snow-covered mountains, forest and gentle farmland where the Hokitika River runs down to the sea.

Rimu Lodge is a boutique hotel surrounded by magnificent nature yet close to the small town of Hokitika with its award-winning cafes. It is architecturally designed to take advantage of the wonderful views over the Hokitika River Valley.

This Qualmark rated 5-star lodge features 4 guest rooms, each decorated with a quiet elegance and facing north east with views over the valley. All rooms have en suite bathrooms and are furnished with super king/twin, king or queen beds. The two ground floor rooms open onto a large deck whilst the upstairs rooms have access to the main deck from the ‘great room’.

The Great Room

The Great Room is a large, cosy communal sitting room with an open fire and a dining area for breakfast, opening out onto a large deck. The lodge is in the perfect location for exploring this magnificent region by car, on foot or by bike. Discover gorges and waterfalls, seascapes, peaceful towns and craft galleries.
