Northern Territory

Considered by many as Australia’s cultural heartland, the Northern Territory boasts many of the country’s cultural treasures.

Tropical Darwin at the top of the continent is the starting point for many itineraries. The city lies just over 3 hours’ drive from majestic Katherine Gorge and some of Australia’s most breathtaking national parks. Kakadu and Nitmiluk national parks are home to a wealth of native plants and wildlife. Australia’s largest national park, Kakadu is a wonder to explore, filled with a mosaic of billabongs and waterfalls. The park also holds some of Australia’s most impressive Aboriginal rock art sites.

Further south, in the Red Centre, the giant red rock monolith known as Uluru is Australia’s most iconic sight. The region is home to far more than this sacred and culturally significant sight and is worth exploring in greater depth.  Watarrka and Kata Tjuta national parks hold impressive nature rock formations worth exploring including sensational Kings Canyon.
