Longitude 131°

Awaken to the sight of majestic Uluru at Longitude 131°, the closest accommodation to Australia’s best known geographical formation.

The dual World Heritage-listed wilderness of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park – also known as the Red Centre – is Australia’s cultural and geographical heart. The park’s rugged beauty is on full display and contains the world’s most recognisable sandstone monolith – Uluru – and the assortment of imposing red mounds known as Kata Tjuta (formally known as The Olgas).

Perfectly placed within sight of Uluru, luxurious Longitude 131° is a stunning architectural creation. The lodge is the ideal location to see these magical sacred sites and to absorb the isolation of the rugged outback. Cleverly built to remain warm in winter and cool in summer, the property’s 16 stylish tents have floor to ceiling windows at the foot of the bed, so the first thing you’ll see when you awaken is Uluru. The décor and furnishings are stylishly modern but create a distinct sense of place, featuring desert hues and traditional Indigenous art, whilst the room amenities are purely 21st century. Flick a switch to raise the blinds or slide the shower wall panel so you can take in the changing moods of Uluru while you bathe beneath the rain shower.

Dune House, the central hub of the property, contains a vast collection of books, maps and artefacts, providing guests the opportunity to learn about the area. The adjacent swimming pool and terrace form the ultimate setting for a drink as the sun sets over the ochre landscape.

Dining is beneath the dramatic Dune House canopy or outdoors, at Table 131°. Cuisine is contemporary Australian, infused with indigenous flavours. A private romantic dinner-for-two beneath the stars can also be arranged at Dune Top.

A range of exceptional excursions can be organised during your stay. A typical day might start with a meander through spectacular Walpa Gorge before stopping at the Cultural Centre, where informative, interactive displays provide insight into the meaning of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Catch the sunset over Uluru in the evening, chilled beverage and canapés in hand – the ultimate Red Centre experience!

Longitude 131° welcomes children aged 10 years and over.
